今週の #WOTW は 'flyer’ です。'Flyer’ (or ‘flier’) is a noun we know you’ve heard before, but how many meanings do you know? Let’s check!

- Since I’m a frequent flyer I get to fly for free a couple of times every year. (A person or thing that flies, especially in a particular way.)

- There are more and more male cabin attendants, but not so many female flyers. (A person who flies something, especially an aircraft.)

- He’s a flyer but doesn’t have good control of the ball. (This is informal. It means a fast-moving person or thing.)

- Everybody hands out flyers here, from the receptionist to the CEO. (A small handbill advertising an event or product.)

- The team got off to a flyer, but ended up losing the match. (Short for ‘flyer start’, meaning a good beginning, especially one giving an advantage over competitors.)

- You shouldn’t put all your money in that venture. It’s a flyer. (This is North American and it means a speculative investment.)
